An exhibition on the internationally recognized work of the Digital Animation Department at the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain. The exhibition is produced by Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Palma, Majorca, and will show short films and their creative processes. Highlighted will be Carlos Grangel´s work, digital designer of characters in multiple animated feature films (Dreamworks Animation’s The Prince of Egypt, Madagascar, and Kung fu Panda, and Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride). Carlos Grangel and animation directors from Spain’s Ilion Studios (Planet 51) and MICA will also offer students and faculty workshops and lectures throughout the month-long event.
In collaboration with the American University Museum (Katzen Arts Center), the University of the Balearic Islands (Universitat de les Illes Balears), Es Baluard Museum of Palma de Majorca, the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), and the Ministry of Culture of Spain.
